Interview with Agnès Dewé de Launay
Humility. The woman of wine, as the man of wine, is just a terroir interpreter with tools like climate and grape varieties. We simply try to express nature with tools that we do not control. Nothing belongs to us, nothing is ever granted, but when we make a good wine or vintage, we can be proud !!
I have no unique activity but trips are very knowledgeable, full of sensations and it gives you a hindsight on your work. Even a mere walk has a lot of virtues.
A great wine moment at Château Cheval Blanc in Saint Émilion. It was after an exhausting day at Vinexpo in Bordeaux. The weather was deliciously warm and we visited the facilities with a glass of Roederer Cristal Champagne in hand. Then came the dinner in company of several great Bordeaux châteaux owners : just like I was dreaming…
One of my favourite wines is probably Philipponat’s "Le clos des Goisses" (Champagne). This wine has so much personality and character. It goes perfectly with a meal as it is dense and rich. Delicious ! The Musigny is another weakness of mine for sure.
