« Femmes Et Vins de Bourgogne » and « le Cœur des Femmes »

At the November 2018 Hospices de Beaune annual wine auction, the Business women in Burgundy wine association bid for a cask of Auxey-Duresses 1er cru « Les Duresses », cuvée Boillot 2018, purchased on their behalf by Francine Picard.

In partnership with Ludovine Griveau and wine maker Maison Pierre Mayeul the wine was vinified and raised then bottled and left to age for 3 years in the cellar belonging to the association’s president, Nathalie Fèvre.

The purpose of this operation was charitable and truly heartfelt : indeed, heart disease is the major cause of death for women and for this reason we had chosen to fund the « Cœur et Recherche » institute for its research work on the female heart ; at a later stage, it is our intention to support another project consisting in the building of a convalescent home for women in Burgundy.

On the theme of the French paradox -the heart and wine - we will be holding a charity evening ; in fact, in relation to this the medical journal « The Lancet », published an article claiming that after some years of research it was established drinking 2 or 3 glasses of wine daily could reduce the risk of coronary heart disease by 40% so we can assume there is a strong link between wine and a woman’s heart.

This gala and dinner is organized for Thursday 14 December 2023 at the Clos de Vougeot château during which there will be an auction for the Auxey Duresses vintage, each lot including magnums or jeroboams, together with a contribution from each member of the FevB association.

Supporting this event we will welcome the actress, Alexandra Lamy as a guest of honour.
